Priscilla on a beanbagHi I’m Priscilla and welcome to  BigTimeSeoAffiiliate.com. This site is a designed to explore various ways to make money on line.

My Story

I started building websites in 2004. I went back to school after being out of school for many years. But  I have always been interested in computers; even before desktop and laptop computers!  I took RPG and COBOL programming languages when I was in high school. I think I’ll stop there. I think I may be dating myself….

Army Strong

I joined the Army back in the 80’s. I told the recruiter that I was interested in computers. She told me “I can get you a job in the Army working with computers!” And I believed her.   So I signed up to be  be as a Combat Telecommunications Center Operator in the Army Reserves “Be all you can be”.  However, I still didn’t quite get the “combat” part until I reported to Advanced Individual training (AIT) and the classroom was outside!

Some More School

When I got back from training, I went to business school and got a certificate in word processing. That was computer related right? Hey, I  worked on my 1st IBM Personal Computer at that school OK? It was awesome!

Fast forward 15 years, some college,  active duty Army and just plain working, I decided to put my GI Bill to good use and go back to college. But this time I would go for computers… for real this time.  I learned web development at the local technical college. I went on to finish my bachelors and masters degrees and went to work in IT and software engineering. But I have been building websites ever since.

Building Websites

I learned quickly that just building websites for people did not really bring home the bacon. Plus it was really labor intensive. I had an interest in selling stuff on line but “what should I sell”? I learned about affiliate marketing in college and I knew that it was a legitimate way to make money on line but I never really got the hang of it.

Anyhow, website design has changed to more content management systems like WordPress, Joomla land Drupal, where the people can manage their own content. Woohoo! What a relief!

OK, So Now You Have a Website, What’s Next?

Here’s the part where I jump back into the website business. Once you get your site built, how do you let people know that you or online and have something to say or that you have something to sell? The answer is optimizing your site to get noticed by the search engines and drive traffic to your site. The more traffic you get, the more potential sales you have. For more on search engines and traffic read this article, “SEO What is it?”

And that’s where I come in…

The Why

This site is dedicated to helping people establish their on-line presence, build their own website, get it ranked by the search engines and learning how to use affiliate marketing to make money on line without having to manage inventory… unless of course you just want to.

Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress. This page will be updated periodically.
